La prise en charge d’une premi\u00e8re luxation chez un athl\u00e8te est un v\u00e9ritable d\u00e9fi. Cette population de patients a des exigences importantes, des attentes \u00e9lev\u00e9es et des d\u00e9lais \u00e0 respecter, en particulier si le traumatisme survient pendant la haute saison. Comme la prise en charge initiale est g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement conservatrice avec une immobilisation suivie d’une r\u00e9\u00e9ducation, certains auteurs soutiennent le r\u00f4le du traitement chirurgical primaire chez les athl\u00e8tes \u00e0 haut risque. L’indication de la chirurgie et le choix de la technique chirurgicale reposent sur un algorithme int\u00e9grant les facteurs de risque de r\u00e9cidive et la pr\u00e9sence de l\u00e9sions osseuses concomitantes sur les c\u00f4t\u00e9s de l’hum\u00e9rus et de la gl\u00e8ne.
